I go to Simi Valley hospital, which was amazing, by the way. I knew their terrible reputation but the intake nurse pretty much jumped (leaving some guy with a hurt foot) to wheel me upstairs. The new building is just gorgeous and the nurses were fantastic. All is well, as soon as the monitor was strapped on my belly she started having a dance party. Such a stinker.

This brings me to the name dilemma we are facing. From the moment I knew I was pregnant I knew baby's name would be Madeleine but I could not come up with a middle name. It's not an easy name to match something with. I decided on M'Liss which is my sweet Mama's name. It's the only thing that sounded right. (Notice I am saying I and not we, Aaron has not had a lot of input thus far.) But my darling light of my life niece Evynn's middle name is M'Liss and I did not want to stir anything up family wise or take something away from her.Our little friend Amanda REALLY wants us to name the baby Joy so that both girls have holiday names, which I would have liked. Joy was a no go but Aunt Lorrie pointed out that Madeleine Joy is really pretty. I do like it! Importantly, so does her Daddy, he was not hip on M'Liss for whatever reason but did not have any input so I told him too bad. Now I am conflicted even more. I also wanted our kids to have family middle names....no one in our family remotely has a name sounding like Joy. It's not a name I ever particularly liked but neither is Noelle.
So......Madeleine Joy Jones???

Baby baby! Man what roller coasters we go through for these little ones! You know names are one of those things, people get all huffy at the beginning and then once they turn 1 month the name you picked out is perfect. Go with your gut and if it doesn't know eenie meenie miinie moe.
I love it!
I totally understand. It was very hard for me to pick names. I went back and forth on names the whole pregnancy. I think it changed every week.
I loved Madeleine M'Liss when you first posted it. I love the idea that both your girls have family names and think that is more perfect than both having holiday names, especially when the name means so much! In Jeremiah's family several of the kids have the same middle name (Christian and Leuck are the most popular). I don't see you taking anything away from Evynn either. I know my girls would be thrilled to share their name with a brand new baby!
Either one is perfect, if you love it-she'll love it. I (personally, although you didn't ask) can't imagine Evynn not liking sharing such a special middle name, it's a name worth repeating in the family. When it's time to name her, you'll know what her name should be.
On to health, I'm sorry she's been making you worry but happy to hear she's just doing her own thing in there. I hope she keeps dancing for you. We can't wait to meet her...

I like the family name. My niece has the same middle name as Cara and I wasn't bothered by it one bit. It's not lke you will call her by that (unless she's in trouble).
I have the same middle name as one of my cousins and I like that we have the same middle name...It's a kind of bond between us:)

Name her what you want to name her or you will not be happy! Both sound wonderful!
Either are very cute!
you know my vote. honor your mama. evynn will love sharing grandma's name.
and... joy jones is tricky to say. i keep trying and it's not rolling right. :)
I am glad to hear she was ok. I think both middle names work. I would say do what feels right. I tend to like Joy. But I like shorter middle names Evey's is Mae. But we did the family thing too (Mae is my Mom's middle name). So I understand the family part of it too. I vote for M.J.J.
